Use of Mobile Devices

Mobile phones and smart devices in school

Schools are expected to maintain a learning environment that is free from mobile phone use. This includes smartphones, smart watches, tablets, Bluetooth earbuds and any similar smart technology.

Students must ensure their device is switched off and placed securely in their bag before entering the school gates. Devices should not be seen or heard at any point during the school day. This supports focus, reduces distraction and protects students from online risks.

Sixth Form expectations

Sixth Form students may use their mobile phones and smart devices only in designated Sixth Form areas. They must not use devices in corridors, classrooms or any shared spaces used by younger students. This maintains a consistent standard across the school and models responsible behaviour.

Sixth Form students are expected to follow the same principles as the rest of the school. Devices should remain off and out of sight when moving around the wider site.
